December 26th Full Moon Intention & Affirmation

The full moon is here so I have a new tarot curated intention and affirmation for us to work with. This moon cycle I used the Modern Witch Tarot deck, and we pulled the Six of Swords, the Knight of Cups, and the Knight of Pentacles. Be sure to have a look at the cards to see what they awaken in you, let’s dive in.

One thing that stands out to me as I gaze at these archetypes is that each represents a transition or a journey. This doesn’t surprise me, after all, we’re at a turning point in the Wheel of the Year. Yule, also known as the winter solstice or midwinter, is upon us, and when the seasons change, so do we. In addition, it’s almost the New Year. 2023 is ending, and 2024 is about to begin. Personally, and communally, this is a transitional time.

Embracing Darkness: Reflections on the Winter Solstice

We've arrived at the winter solstice, the shortest, and darkest, day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere.

Nestled within the darkness lies a potent magic, do you feel it? Now is a time for reflection, renewal, and the promise of returning light.

For millennia, cultures around the world have acknowledged the significance of the winter solstice.

Ancient Egyptians built the Great Sphinx to align with the rising sun on this day. The Romans celebrated Saturnalia, a festival of merrymaking and role-reversal. In Norse mythology, Yule marks the rebirth of the sun god Baldr.

This moon cycle I used the Vintage Wisdom Oracle deck and the Smith/Waite tarot, and we pulled the King of Wands, Intention, and the Knight of Swords. Intention: Depending on what’s going on in our lives, taking mindful action can be tough. In times of crisis, stress, or challenge we may feel the need to take immediate, and well-intended, action. While there are certainly moments where swift responses are needed, I’ve found that taking a moment to reflect is wise.

Intention: Sometimes life is overwhelming. With so much going on in the world today I feel like many of us are experiencing some level of exhaustion, upset, and fear. Pair that with personal challenges and you have a perfect recipe for feeling like everything is falling apart.

I’d like to point out that sometimes we can experience overwhelm and not realize it, especially if we spent much of our childhood in high stress situations.

Affirmation: In the face of overwhelm I trust my inner strength and resilience to help me find ease.

September 29th Full Moon Intention & Affirmation

The full moon is here so I have a new tarot curated intention and affirmation for us to work with. I used the Wild Unknown Tarot deck, and we pulled the Son of Pentacles, the Seven of Swords, and the Wheel of Fortune. Be sure to have a look at the cards to see what they awaken in you. Let’s dive in!

Intention: It’s always nice when our instincts are clear and we feel a strong yes or no, but what about times you feel a mix of both? Let’s say twenty percent of you says no, and the other eighty percent says yes. What about times when its fifty-fifty and you’re presented with a stalemate?

While I love the clarity of a clear yes or no, I’m beginning to see value in circumstances that awaken uncertainty. When I take a broad view, I see that uncertainty is a sign of inner conflict, and inner conflict, with time and tending, can transition to inner dialogue.

Having plans and healthy routines gives life structure and helps us achieve our desires, but they can also feel restrictive, especially when embedded in societal norms or beliefs that aren’t supportive. When the mind rushes forward with plots and plans we inevitably go along for the ride, and in doing so, risk losing our way.

In my life, there have been times when plotting and planning led me astray. I got so focused the outcome, I forgot to stop and way to ask, “Why?” When I finally gifted myself a moment of pause, I realized I was so mission oriented, I’d lost sight of my motivation, intention, and desire. Has this ever happened to you?

Clairsenses and Psychic Communication

I’m often asked what it means to be psychic and intuitive. First off, being psychic, intuitive, or tuned into your clairsenses is all one thing. I use these terms interchangeably. Second, I believe we all have psychic and intuitive abilities. Most people have experienced them on some level. Ever just known something to be true, only to have your instinct confirmed? Most likely it was your intuition that nudged you.

Some people intentionally develop and engage their psychic and intuitive abilities, while others don’t. Those who nurture these parts of themselves often find their abilities grow in wonderful and supportive ways. Some people, like me, choose to use their abilities to help others, while others don’t. Either path is valid.
